I have to agree, Dawg. This Tele is a winner. Great for Stones, Aerosmith, ZZ Top riffing or clean jazz-like tones. Takes to pedals great and sounds equally well clean or distorted, especially the bridge. The tone and volume pots have a great, even tapper. Turn down the tone on the bridge and crank up the gain for fat, 70's style hard rock. I just wish the finish was a little thinner, but its a great player nevertheless. They also have a butterscotch version with Alnico 5's (versus 3's on this one) which is as good, but "spankier".

I agree with the glowing review. I have six Telecasters and this one sounds and plays as well as the best that I own. The pine body is a totally new experience for me, and it sounds really great. I have a Squier or two from the past years production, and I generally opt to install Duncan pickups right off the bat. But the pickups on this guitar are staying put.

These new Squires are such a pleasant surprise!
