About 50% of the overall tone is dependant on the speaker(s). Therefore, speaker selection is as critical as the amp you choose.

Also as most people are aware; speaker cabinet types and sizes affects the speaker’s tone. A bright speaker can be tamed down with a close back cab and vice-versa.
