I’ll be the first to admit I didn’t discover this kid. I stumbled upon him via GuitarFlame’s blog. I was so impressed that an 11 year old kid had chops this good that I had to list him here as a Top Dawg. You have to see it to believe it! This kid is absolutely amazing, and here’s yet another thing: He has only been playing for 2 years! Imaging what he’ll be like in 10 years! I think this kid is headed for guitar greatness.
Click here to see him play. Your jaw will drop!!!
You might be tempted to think that this is gimmicky, but let me tell you, it’s VERY rare to come across a true prodigy like this. Enjoy and be amazed!
Hey,Brendan! Thank you for credits! Indeed, this child is amazing, I was amazed of how well he plays! And if you look at the videos on his page, I think that they are filmed over time, since you can see some progress he has made from one to an other. He’s very good!
I indeed spent about an hour – of work time 🙂 – to view this kid’s videos. Like I said, a true prodigy. I’ve been playing for 35 years, and while I’ve developed a good tone, this kid’s got me beat in technique hands-down. It’s really inspiring to me to see that kind of talent!
Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for sharing this wonderful gift with us!
You should also see Rayito here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2_99dKiV-M and look on YouTube for Ryan Imamura. They rock! I was amazed, really!
Cool! I’ll check them out!
Gitarrengenie – Sungha Jung
I really admire him.I have played guitar for 3 years but he make me very surprised at his ability.
good!!!!
This kid is unbelievable! You should check out this kid named Bryan Sheinkopf. His youtube account is guitarfreak2312.
i am really inlove wit this kid.
ever since i began to watch his videos, i just can’t help but amaze my self.
Geez this kid left me dumbstruck………….he really has a very wonderful gift and you can see in every song he just love what he’s doing.
Sungha Jung, the young master from Korea, has reaffirmed my faith in humanity. At his young age, he has already relegated at least a third of the world’s current virtuosos (of any age) to has-been status. His technique is masterful, over a wide range of styles and idioms, and his sheer musicality is ravishing. This young man is a musical avatar. I wish him a joyous and successful life. It blows my mind to think of what he’ll be doing in five years. He’ll no doubt be world famous. Thanks for the inspiration, Sungha.
I build acoustic guitars for a living, so naturally, I’m curious about the guitar that Sungha plays in most of his videos. It’s an awesome instrument; anybody out there know anything about it?
Anyway, best of good fortune to Sungha Jung and his family. -the edwinson
from his youtube profile:
“My old guitar is custom made by Selma to fit my body size, and on it, Thomas Leeb wrote “Keep on grooving to my friend.””
wow i didnt think i would be mentioned on a website by someone. i’m guitarfreak2312 from utube and Zach was talking about me
I agree completely with all the above. I am not sure how I happened upon this kid (on youtube), but he has made my life more enjoyable just listening to him play..as a matter of fact, he has become as addictive as caffeine. I cannot stop listening to his vids!! He has a mentor (who appears in a few of his vids) and he is actually better than Sungha….he plays with the soft precision that comes from 30 years of talented playing. Check out is youtube channel—ulli boerganhausen–he is also amazing. But the thing about Sungha is that he is only 12 and and has been only playing for 3 years (2 and a half really)!! Sungha is a gift to the world. Simple as that. He has already enriched MANY people’s lives. 46,000,000 views on you-tube and c ounting.
