Slash L Guitars has a new web site!
The newest member of my stable is “Katie May” made by Perry Riggs, owner and luthier of Slash L Guitars. This one-man outfit based in Houston, Texas has been producing guitars for just a few years, but these are absolutely special guitars; not just because they’re custom or hand-made (I’ve played plenty of that ilk that have been pretty disappointing). These are neck-through guitars.
Admittedly, when I first played a guitar Perry sent me for review (“Lana”), I was a little skeptical. But the feel, workmanship and playability of the guitar was incredible; not to mention the super long sustain due to the continuous neck (neck-through body). I was in absolute heaven until I had to return the guitar. But I never forgot Lana.
A couple of years after I reviewed “Lana” I received “Katie May” for yet another review. I never returned her. It was love at first strum for me, and Katie May is now a regular part of my rotation – probably putting in more time than my Les Pauls. Imagine that!
Anyway, I just wanted to announce that Perry has a new web site up that I helped put together. It’s pretty basic at the moment, but we’re planning some really cool things for it in the near future. Importantly, there’s a gallery where you can see some of the guitars that he’s built in the recent past.
