Your guitar, that is…
I dig cool, off-the-wall stuff. Remember the Harmonic Capo I wrote about? I actually never got one, but that never reduced its cool to me. But this new, cool thing is something I’m definitely going to have to check out. It’s called the Guitar Hanger, made by the guys at The Guitar Hanger company. As the name implies, this little contraption literally lets you hang your guitar, much like you would a shirt or a pair of pants. Check out the video:
Right now, I’ve got all my guitars in my studio in their cases or gig bags, lined up along a wall, taking up valuable floor space. But with guitar hangers, I can free up A BUNCH of floor space. With guitar hangers, you could do something like this:
How cool is that?!!!! For more information, go to the The Guitar Hanger web site!
Yeah, that’s all I need. My wife complains about all my guitars now. I start hanging them up in our (i.e. her) closet and all hell will break loose. Great idea for your own room though.
It’s definitely cool. (I have that same shelving system in my home office.) But wouldn’t it wind up taking MORE space?
You still have to store your cases (unless they get stacked above). And then there’s the dust issue. And you neighbors and friends who insist on picking your guitars up and crashing them into each other. And if you have kids in the house, fuggetaboutit. Still, it looks cool. Maybe if you built or converted an antique armoire for it?
Yeah, the dust thing may definitely be an issue. But with respect to the armoire, now you’re talking… 🙂 You pick up an old armoire at an antique or estate sale and bring it home. The wife loves it because it looks so cool, “And look honey, it’ll go great in the living room right next to the antique couch!” She loves it because it’s a nice stylistic statement, and you get a place to store your axes! It’s a win-win! 🙂
